PRE-AUCTION REAL ESTATE VIEWING:
Sunday – September 10 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the property location.
TRACT 1
Consist of 10.11 surveyed acres and the Auchly house and farmstead support building. Tract 1 has frontage and access off Auchly Road that runs along the north side of the property. There is also rural water.
The Auchly Family has owned this property and resided in the stately home since 1870, it has been through a fire and reconstruction, yet still has lots of charm, character and living space. The house has a good shingle roof, vinyl siding, original woodwork and three masonry chimneys, a stone foundation and partial stone cellar.
The home is a two-story wooden structure that is partially log. The main floor is entirely finished with a formal dining room, with pass -through window from the kitchen. The kitchen has a pantry, center island, wooden cabinets and lots of counter space.
There is a cozy family room with wood burning insert in the fireplace, a bedroom, large bathroom/utility room and formal living room. In addition, the house has a wrap-around front porch and an enclosed back porch.
The upstairs is finished into bedrooms and a full bath with lots of closets. The house is uniquely constructed with a hidden stairway and secret room.
Tract One also has a detached concrete block garage/shop, three large livestock barns and a couple open front machine sheds. All in relatively good condition and functioning. There are also outbuildings that serve a varity of purposes. There is a deep well on this tract.
TRACT 2
Consists of 5.48 surveyed acres and it joins Tract One all along the east side and also has frontage and access off Auchly Road. This tract has access to rural water.
Tract Two is basically level and open with the exception of a grove of hickory trees in the northwest corner. The tract is currently being used for pasture and hay production.
Tract Two works perfectly for a stand-alone tract for a place in rural Montgomery County to build a new house or as an addition to Tract One.
NOTE: Bill Auchly and his family have occupied this farm and homestead since the Civil War. The property consists of the spacious farmhouse and all its unique amenities and the farmstead has all the characteristics of that Era. A blacksmith shop with granary, cellar, chicken house, orchard, cistern, rock wall, etc. This is an incredible opportunity to buy a piece of Montgomery County history.
